Steve
Morris has been scribbling bits and pieces for many years,
but only began to write seriously in 1997 after being
asked to make a submission to a newsletter produced by
the local government department for which he works.
The
sudden realisation that other people actually liked his
efforts inspired him to carry on scribbling and to date
he has published three collections of comic verse 'Knicker
Night and Other Tales' (now out of print), 'A Sportin' Life'
and 'Why I Left the Scouts' as well as producing the CD
'Rhythms and Rhymes' and making numerous radio and public
appearances. Another CD is in the pipeline
for 2005.
Other
interests include digital photography, walking, traditional
music and the peculiarly English pastime of Border Morris
Dancing. He also has a fondness for the music of Vivaldi
and a greater fondness for English Ale and Aussie Shiraz.
Born
in 1948 in the coal and cotton town of Leigh, Steve now
lives in Chorley, Lancashire with his wife Gill and Patrick
the world's laziest and most bad-tempered cat.
