Scott Emmons grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado near the Rocky Mountains. He initially embarked on an academic career, earning a doctorate in classical Greek and Latin before admitting to himself that his heart was in humor writing.

For the last ten years he has made his living writing gags and funny rhymes for a well-known greeting card company.

He now lives in the Kansas City area with his wife Erika, their twelve-year-old son Oscar, and a highly peculiar cat named Gus.

In his spare time Scott enjoys playing the violin and collecting campy 1950s educational films.
