Mollie Matthews is a Wigan lass through and through. Born in the town in 1949, she has lived and worked there for most of her life.

Her sense of humour she describes as 'somewhat unorthodox, particularly for a woman' and for the last three years she's been writing comical stories in Lancashire dialect about two characters who go from one crazy escapade to another. She has only recently begun to try her hand at poems and monologues.

For forty years she's worked full time as a secretary, the last twenty being spent with an electrical engineering contractor.

Mollie still lives in sunny Wigan, with her partner and their eight (yes, eight) cats!
